Wikidata records 1,953 hotels that opened in the 2010s, from 2010 to 2019, in 99 countries; most of them in Indonesia (822), Vietnam (200) and Taiwan (87).[1][2] The best known, by the number of Wikipedia language editions with an article on it, is Elbphilharmonie, opened in 2017. The year with the most recorded openings is 2014, with 250.
Method
A hotel is listed under the year of the earliest date Wikidata gives for its official opening or, where it gives none, its inception. For a building converted into a hotel, the inception is often that of the building. Hotels that have since closed are included. Decades with at least 25 dated hotels have a list of their own. Within each year, hotels are in alphabetical order.[1][2]
