Wikidata records 73 hotels as opening in 1928, in 23 countries; most of them in the United States (35), France (5) and Indonesia (3).[1][2] The best known, by the number of Wikipedia language editions with an article on it, is Beverly Wilshire Hotel. They are listed here by name; List of hotels opened in the 1920s puts them in their decade.
A hotel is listed under the year of the earliest date Wikidata gives for its official opening or, where it gives none, its inception - for a building converted into a hotel, often that of the building. Hotels that have since closed are included.[1][2]
