The Jumeirah Burj Al Arab (Arabic: برج العرب, lit. 'Arab Tower'), commonly known as Burj Al Arab, is a luxury hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Developed and managed by Jumeirah, it is one of the tallest hotels in the world, although 39% of its total height is made up of non-occupiable space.

History and building
The hotel opened in 1999. It was designed by Tom Wright, in the high-tech architecture and postmodern architecture style. The building has 56 floors and is 321 m tall. [1]

Measured in a straight line, the hotel is 19 km from the centre of Dubai. The nearest airport with scheduled flights is Dubai International Airport (DXB), about 7 km from the centre of Dubai.[4]
