Wikidata records the architecture of 45 hotels as rustic, in the United States and Canada.[1] The earliest to open was El Tovar Hotel, in 1905; the most recent, The Brinkerhoff, in 1946. The best known, by the number of Wikipedia language editions with an article on it, is Timberline Lodge.
Method
A hotel is included when Wikidata gives “rustic architecture” as its architectural style. Labels that differ only by a trailing “architecture” or by capital letters are treated as one style; other related styles have pages of their own. A hotel may have more than one style. Styles recorded for at least 3 hotels have a page. The styles are as recorded and have not been checked against other sources.[1]
Hotels
In order of opening; those without a recorded year come last. 29 hotels have none.[1][2]
Architects
Wikidata names 3 architects and firms for these hotels; by the number of them: Gilbert Stanley Underwood (2), John P. Thomas (1), William Irving Turner (1).[2]
