Swissôtel The Stamford, formerly known as The Westin Stamford, is a hotel in Singapore managed by Accor. Designed by architect I.M. Pei, at a height of 226 metres (741 ft) it was the tallest hotel in the world when opened in 1986 and remains one of Southeast Asia's tallest hotels. It is part of the Raffles City complex comprising two hotels, the Raffles City Convention Centre, Raffles City shopping centre, and an office tower.

History and building
The hotel opened in 1986. It was designed by I. M. Pei, in the postmodern architecture style. The building has 73 floors and is 226 m tall. [1]

Measured in a straight line, the hotel is 3.5 km from the centre of Bukit Merah. The nearest airport with scheduled flights is Seletar Airport (XSP), about 16 km from the centre of Bukit Merah.[4]
